PROMOTION OF GENDER EQUITY

RGUKT prioritizes the promotion of gender equity across all its campuses. Girl students constitute around 50% of the enrolment. Guest speakers are invited to discuss gender-related issues, emphasizing the contributions of women to society. RGUKT upholds inclusivity, providing equal opportunities to all, regardless of gender, caste, religion, social status, or any other consideration.

Special facilities are provided on each campus to promote gender equity:

  • Girls' Common Room: Equipped with toilets, drinking water facilities, and security.
  • Safety and Security: Women security guards are present on campus and in hostels. Security checkpoints are established at key points, and 24x7 surveillance is maintained through CC cameras.
  • Medical Facilities: Separate medical facilities for girls with ten beds are available at each campus health center.
  • Counseling Services: A counselor is always available to provide emotional support and address gender sensitization issues.
  • Women Empowerment Cell: This cell addresses grievances and organizes awareness and empowerment programs.
  • Internal Compliance Committee: It handles and resolves issues related to sexual harassment.

NPTEL Examinations Successfully Conducted at RGUKT Over 10,300 Students Participated
Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies (RGUKT) has successfully conducted the National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) examinations across its four campuses — Nuzvid, RK Valley, Srikakulam, and Ongole. The examinations held on May 5, 2025, witnessed the enthusiastic participation of over 10,300 students, marking a remarkable milestone. NPTEL is a prestigious national initiative of the Ministry of Education, Government of India, in collaboration with leading institutes like IITs and IISc. The programme aims to make world-class technical education accessible to everyone through online courses. The successful conduct of this examination was made possible by the collaborative efforts of NPTEL coordinators, faculty, technical teams, and administrative staff at all four campuses. The students showed commendable coordination and discipline during the examination process. On this occasion, RGUKT Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Kotha Madhu Murthy, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Vijaya Kumar, Registrar Prof. Sandra Amarendra Kumar, Campus Directors, Administrative Officers, and Deans congratulated the students on their achievement. They also appreciated the dedicated efforts of the faculty and mentors, stating that students will be further encouraged to actively participate in national-level educational programs like NPTEL. Designed by IIT Madras, these courses are especially valuable for engineering students to enhance their technical skills. Irrespective of their syllabus or academic branch, students can gain additional knowledge and skills aligned with modern technological requirements through NPTEL.
