Training and Placement Office

The Government of Andhra Pradesh established Rajiv Gandhi University of knowledge technologies (RGUKT) in the year 2008, to cater to the educational needs of the meritorious rural youth of Andhra Pradesh and thus improve their job opportunities particularly in engineering domain.

The university is striving hard to fulfill the objectives by imparting the best technical education to its students. The university is trying to establish close linkage with industry to make teaching and research relevant to the needs of the economy at national and global levels since RGUKT has adopted a pedagogy that emphasize on IT skills, from day one.

It is expected that the employment prospects of graduates of RGUKT will be better than many universities in Andhra Pradesh and India. It is also anticipated that the broad based education including soft skills will provide a strong foundation for national competitive examinations like Civil Services, Indian Engineering Examination, Banking and Railway recruitment board examinations etc.

Establishment of Placement Office

Apart from providing top class education the novel method of teaching and learning, it was decided to establish a placement office at the head quarters, to train the students further on soft skills so that they get suitable jobs. Similar such placement offices will be established at the three campuses of Basara, Nuzvid and R.K.Valley, under the supervision of a placement officer at each campus to cater to the needs of the students in training and placements.

Objectives of Placement Office

To create internship opportunities for students.
To train and place the engineering graduates coming out of the university, in suitable jobs.
To train the students appear for the competitive examinations conducted by Govt. of India and the state of A.P.
Inviting adequate number of reputed companies for campus recruitment and to see that the students are placed.
To provide appropriate guidance for career planning.

Based on the Subject of interest, i.e., jobs in Government sector/ Private sector (including IT industry) , students will be given appropriate training and necessary information including the syllabi, the content etc., will be provided by the placement office. The placement office will assist the students in training for various examinations conducted by the public sector companies, Government departments, private sector companies, to acquire communication skills and other skills required to get through the said examinations. The placement office will make necessary arrangements to bring various companies for campus recruitment.
