Signing of MoU with
Aalborg University Denmark
for Collaborative Research and Academic Activities
on 27.2.2011 at RGUKT Campus, Gachibowli, Hyderabad
Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies (RGUKT) was established by the Government of Andhra Pradesh through Act 18 of 2008 for providing high quality education to the rural meritorious youth in the state of Andhra Pradesh. RGUKT has three upcoming sprawling campuses one each at Basara (Adilabad district), Nuzvid (Krishna district) and RK Valley (YSR Kadapa district). RGUKT, with a unique admission procedure, enrolls the best of rural students spread across the State covering the top 0.5% of the meritorious students. At present, about 5,000 students are pursuing courses in RGUKT at each centre.
Presently, RGUKT has 12 engineering and science departments. It has well qualified and bright faculty including a number of junior faculty with a high research potential. Original research is the guiding force for quality of education in a university. RGUKT has defined its thrust areas of research and is keen on encouraging research in the focused and other areas of high societal relevance.
RGUKT strongly believes that collaborative research fills the vital gaps in certain areas and brings out the best of both the worlds.
Aalborg University, Denmark, an internationally reputed university, was formally established in 1974. Presently it has several branches of study and about 15,000 students. Center for Teleinfrastruktur (CTIF) is a Global inter- and cross- disciplinary Information Communication Technologies (ICT) Center at Aalborg University (AAU), Denmark. Established in 2004, it is the Danish strategic site for research and teaching activities covering a wide range of activities, such as satellite systems, electronic components and sub-systems, antennas, propagation, network planning and development, security, applied mathematics, reconfigurable radio technologies, multimedia information, signal processing, socio-economic and management aspects.
The CTIF, Aalborg University, Denmark has developed a wide network of exchanges, cooperation and initiatives at international level and hence became a reference point in the ICT world.
RGUKT with the objective of shaping its students into high class engineers and scientists, gives utmost importance to the quality teaching and learning by adopting a curriculum which is on par with the standards of premier institutions. As RGUKT wishes to initiate high quality research partly through collaborations with reputed national and international institutions it has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with Aalborg University, Denmark. This MoU is signed by Prof R V Raja Kumar, VC, RGUKT and Prof Ramjee Prasad, Director, CTIF, University of Aalborg.
The collaboration between AAU and RGUKT will lead to the following initiatives; Initiation of new studies and research programmes, joint research programmes, joint seminars/conferences, European Commission projects, industrial projects, exchange of information projects, exchange, training and internship projects for staff and students etc. Separate agreements will be entered into on case by case within the purview of this MoU. Presently, there is no financial liability for the RGUKT for entering into this MoU. This MoU is valid upto Feb 2014.
It is hoped that the present MoU will pave way for high quality and advanced research and other activities by which the faculty and students and the society around at large will be benefited to a great extent in the coming years.
