"The Independence Day(66th) celebrations at IIIT,Nuzvid began at 8:00AM with the ceremonial Welcome by NCC cadets of the guests, and all teachers, followed by singing of 'Vandemataram...' prayer song. The flag was hoisted at 8:30AM by Dr.M.Salagram, Professor-in-Physics and was followed by chorus singing of the National Anthem 'Janaganamana...'. The students gathering was addressed by some students, some teachers and lastly by Prof.Salagram with a message. The students then dispersed."
